At The Portsmouth Distillery, we’ve always believed that every bottle should tell a story and our new Limited Edition Portsmouth 100 Dark Rum & Navy Gin Gift Set tells the story of a city we’re incredibly proud to call home.
Created to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Portsmouth being granted city status in 1926, this very special release captures the spirit, history, creativity, and character of Portsmouth in one beautifully crafted collector’s edition gift set.
The Portsmouth 100 Gift Set features two exclusive spirits, both created specially for this centenary celebration:
Portsmouth 100 Navy Strength Gin – 57% ABV
Inspired by our much-loved Tudor Gin recipe, this special Navy Strength edition takes everything people love about our signature gin and elevates it to a traditional naval strength of 57% ABV.
The result is a richer, bolder, and more intense flavour profile, while still retaining the carefully balanced botanicals that make the original recipe so distinctive. Juniper-forward with warming spice and citrus notes, it’s a gin designed to be savoured by true spirit lovers.
Portsmouth 100 Dark Navy Rum – 44% ABV
Alongside the gin sits a specially bottled edition of our Dark Navy Rum. Bottled at a slightly lower ABV of 44%, this versi
on allows even more of the rum’s smooth, rounded character to shine through. Rich, warming, and full of depth, it reflects Portsmouth’s deep-rooted maritime heritage and our passion for traditional rum-making with a contemporary twist.
Together, the two bottles create a pairing that perfectly represents The Portsmouth Distillery, historic inspiration combined with modern craft distilling.
Artwork with a Story to Tell
The Portsmouth 100 release is also closely connected to another exciting celebration taking place across the city this summer, the ‘Pride of Portsmouth’ lion trail.
We’re incredibly proud to be taking part in the trail with our very own lion sculpture, which will call The Portsmouth Distillery home throughout the event.
Our lion, brought to life by talented local artist Claire Havell, is inspired by the legendary Sherlock Holmes character and affectionately named “Purrlock Holmes.” Full of personality and playful charm, the design celebrates Portsmouth’s creativity and community spirit.
We were delighted to collaborate with Claire to incorporate artwork inspired by “Purrlock Holmes” onto both the gift box and bottle labels, creating a beautiful visual connection between these two major city celebrations.
The result is a truly eye-catching collector’s piece that celebrates local artistry as much as local distilling.
