On Saturday 11 May between 1830 and 2230 we will be having a party in the fantastic setting of the Nave in Portsmouth Cathedral, yes, you read it right, in the Cathedral! We have invited 10 of our best friends in the rum community to come and showcase their rums from all around the world, meaning there will be in excess of 30 rums to sample. We will be entertained by a fabulous local band – Waif and Stray, plus an authentic steel band from Bristol. The Rum Shack will be built in the cathedral to serve fine handmade cocktails, and there will be a Mexican street food vendor available to buy great food throughout the evening.

We would love to take credit for the idea, but we were approached by the Cathedral late last year to help them stage a Rum Festival in the Cathedral. We jumped at the opportunity to celebrate rum in such an amazing venue, whilst helping the Cathedral to raise funds for the upkeep and restoration of one of Portsmouth’s most iconic of buildings.
