On the nose and the palate the influence of the oak now matches the bourbon, with rich aromas of over ripe bananas and tropical fruits. Initially on the palate there is an intense sweetness of nutty caramel, turning delicately into rich dark chocolate, leaving a very pleasant lingering softness which caresses the tongue.

The name ‘1747’ is inspired by our home, Fort Cumberland, and the year the original fort was commissioned by the Duke of Cumberland. More than a date, it represents the beginning of a story deeply rooted in Portsmouth’s history.
